Therapeutic Approach

Alex views counseling as a dynamic process. If one’s humanity can be met with empathy and curiosity, true understanding happens. While we all may seek personal growth, she believes there are many routes and no final destination. Because she values a person-centered approach, Alex supports the connection between the therapeutic relationship and healing. Through embracing your individuality, she strives to honor your unique experiences. From this unconditional regard, she hopes her clients will gain freedom to explore their genuine thoughts and feelings. Once we discover our own resilience, it becomes a catalyst for reclaiming our purpose.

Perceiving who we are often begins in childhood and adolescence. Therefore, Alex encourages awareness of our identity from an early age. Through a transpersonal lens, she facilitates your inborn sense of self to emerge. When creative expression, nervous system regulation, and somatic processing can be integrated into our behavioral practices, profound moment-to-moment changes occur.

Together along a shared journey, Alex offers her clients more aligned ways of being. Empowering you to silence your inner critic, she invites you to replace judgment with non-attachment. By cultivating self-compassion, we allow ourselves to pursue greater cognitive flexibility and emotional wellbeing. Not only do such insight-oriented techniques remove unrealistic expectations, but they also enable you to transform fear, guilt, or shame into a meaningful life story.

Rather than one-size-fits-all, Alex utilizes a multimodal framework to ensure her clients receive the most customized care. Integrating mindfulness and acceptance-based practices (ACT, MBSR) in addition to motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral (CBT, REBT), Gestalt, and narrative therapy, she welcomes the opportunity to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for all ages including children, teens, and adults.
