Ph.D., LMFT

Dr. Lea Noring is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and holds a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University. She holds a master’s degree in Family Sociology from Valdosta State University. A Clinical Fellow of American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT), Dr. Noring provides psychotherapy for adults, families, and couples and specializes in complex parenting/co-parenting challenges.

She has been working with families and individuals for more than twenty years.  A former teacher, ADHD coach, and special education advocate, she has extensive experience providing IEP and school consultation, support for school issues (and how they affect family relationships), highly sensitive individuals, those with learning differences such as dyslexia, processing disorders and NVLD (non-verbal learning disorder). She also specializes in helping parents understand children with both ADHD and autism (AUDHD).

Dr. Noring was program director at a large Atlanta area eating disorder clinic, where she managed multiple eating disorder programs with clients who had primary eating disorders as well as co-morbid ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, and borderline personality disorder.  She enjoys using tools, such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Enneagram to help individuals understand their personality and inner workings, help families to develop and implement no-fault communication patterns, and support individuals as they recover from traumatic bullying experiences. Dr. Noring’s approach to therapy blends narrative techniques with cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
